About the Role

At GalacticFlow Research, a proprietary high-frequency trading (HFT) firm, we design and operate ultra-low-latency trading systems that process vast amounts of crypto market data in real time. We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to optimize and support our high-performance infrastructure across cloud and bare-metal environments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimize Linux-based low-latency trading infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments
  • Tune kernel parameters, NUMA settings, CPU affinity, and networking stack to achieve nanosecond-level latencies
  • Automate server provisioning, configuration management, and deployments using Ansible and Terraform
  • Monitor and debug live trading issues, optimizing system performance to prevent downtime
  • Manage core infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, LDAP, NFS) to ensure stability and security
  • Collaborate with quant researchers and trading teams to fine-tune infrastructure for optimal execution speeds
  • Participate in on-call rotations, ensuring 24/7 system reliability

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Linux systems administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of Python and Bash scripting for automation and monitoring.
  • Deep understanding of networking (TCP/IP, multicast, low-latency optimizations, kernel tuning).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure setups.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Hands-on experience with debugging tools (perf, strace, eBPF, tcpdump, gdb).
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Candidates with backgrounds from IITs are highly preferred.

Bonus

  • Experience in HFT, crypto trading, or ultra-low-latency financial systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose complex production issues.
